Just a few hours after rumours were floating around of a possible DS Lite release in Pink, Nintendo has confirmed that there will indeed be a “Noble Pink” DS Lite available within weeks. It’s going to be a hit with the high school girls, that’s for sure, but is this the beginning of the end of the original Nintendo DS?

The original DS, as well as being slightly cheaper, had the advantage over the DS Lite of a larger variety of colours. And while this will still be true in places like Australia where you can only get the Polar White edition of the DS Lite (not even the blues? Sheesh!), Nintendo’s move is surely going to mean the eventual demise of the original DS?
