Home: A PS3 Gamer’s online network
I have news for you if you haven’t heard it yet. Sony has launched “Home”, an online network for Play Station 3 which supports video streaming and advertising, since Wednesday (7th March 2007). It will also host virtual characters in common areas and private rooms as well. Looks like Sony is not about to lose out to Nintendo and Microsoft. The latters have launch online network downloadable from their game console much earlier.
The download will be free for PS3’s, that’s always a good thing. Freebies.
Sony’s new projects, incorporate elements from a crop of innovative Web sites, including Second Life, a virtual reality site where players create and own content, from representations of themselves to homes and businesses; Google Inc.’s video-sharing site YouTube; and News
Corp.’s MySpace, a wildly popular site where users create profiles and share everything from music to photos.
