Fighting Cancer via Videogaming

This has a lot to do with the power of the mind and the mind is indeed a very powerful thing. A non-profit organization and game developer HopeLab has developed a game called Re-Mission for cancer patients. The game is a 3-D shooter game where players will control a nanobot called “Roxxi” who will travel into cancer patients body and shooting the cancer cells out. There are 20 levels in this game.
According to HopeLab, the game is both fun and serious, helping players understand the importance of adhering to treatment, and of key behaviors that might help them improve their health.
Pat Christen, President of HopeLab, said ‘Re-Mission works’ as it gives young people with Cancer a sense of power and control over their disease. Christen said it is a powerful example of how rigorous research and rational engineering, combined with fun engaging game technology can improve lives.
I personally think this is a good idea to empower cancer patients to fight their disease using the power of thoughts. To me, many of our disease can be cured much faster if we try to “heal” ourselves from within. Mind over matter :)
