Ok, that was a lame title, but give me a break.
LocoRoco, which was Sony’s attempt at making Katamari-esque alternative success for their PSP platform, has seemingly flopped in Japan. The game has already been found in bargain bins or with slashed prices in shops around Japan, and the bundled PSP and game pack has not been selling as well as anticipated.
Personally, I like this game. But, being a gamer chick probably makes me inclined to like this game anyway, on account of the lack of guns and explosions and abundance of kawaii blobs and catchy theme songs.
Oh well, I’m disappointed, And a little surprised. This game had the right amount of kawaii-ness and innovation to be a big hit in Japan, nevermind worldwide. It’s being said that it’s a result of bad marketing strategies by Sony (ie: too much marketing) but I wonder if that really means it’s the end for the game?
