After a long 7 years, Command&Conquer:Tiberium Wars is released again much to the interest of PC gamers. EVerybody wants to know what happened to Kane and the GDI since the last Tiberium war and now we are about to find out. Tiberium War takes place in on earth littered with tiberium minerals, a toxic substance, left by a meteoroid collision that sucks up the earth’s natural resources. This radioactive substance is dangerous to humans althought robots can extract these Tiberiums and harvest it as energy. However, the Tiberium is actually a plague to Earth even though it has its uses.
Anyway, in this volatile situation, conflicts are growing between the Global Defence Initiative who wants to stop the spread of the Tiberium substance and the Brotherhood of Nod who thinks the Tiberium is a gift from god in whcih humankind;s ultimate “ascension” will be accomplish. SO that’s pretty much what the War is about.
CHeck out the game at Gamespot it gives lots of tips for you PC gamers who has already bought yourself a copy of this new game. This strategy game is a popular PC game that has gathered a string of followers since it’s last release.
Funcom’s Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventure is delayed due to techical problems which involves time. Well, it takes an awful lot of time to create a game about pillage and plunder actually. The guys are probably hitting and fine tuning the game to make sure that this age will be THE Age of Conan. Age of Conan is said to be a massive multiplayer online game when it’s out.
Originally set to be released in 2006, the game is then delayed to the first quarter of 2007 only to be delayed to the second quarter of 2007 now. Eidos now have agreed to become the co-publisher of this game which means, there is something good out of the delay afterall.
Now the game has been hit with another delay in order to “further hone the qualities of the game,” says the pair of publishers [Funcom +Eidos]. The PC version of Age of Conan will now launch on October 30, 2007.
As of now, only the PC version has been announced – there is no word if it will be released on Xbox yet – now bear in mind that Xbox allows players to connect online and play games too so, it’d be cool to play this game via your Xbox…i like playing my videogames on a videogame console instead of a PC.
I could only get a beta version of the footage – whatever that means, sounds like piracy but anyway, to let youhave an idea of the game I present you, the footage to Age of Conan, beta.
A week ago Muken and I went to the Tokyo Game Show 2006. Games are sometimes somewhat interesting but don’t usually look too nice in photos, and the only interesting stuff in my humble non-hardcore-gamer-otaku opinion was the Sony pavillion, but they put signs everywhere to forbid pictures to be shot.
So, I went with the crowd, and shot the booth girls instead…
You may be familiar with the Korean MMORPG Ragnarok Online. It has a number of servers around the world, including the English-speaking International and Oceanic portals. It is my favourite game of the moment. But why am I carrying on about an old PC game that isn’t even Japanese?
Well, for starters, it is now. Gravity Corporation, who designed Ragnarok Online, was bought out by Softbank, a major Japanese IT company (who, coincidently, are my internet service providers).
But the main reason I’m posting is because the upcoming sequel, Ragnarok Online 2, will have music by my hero, Japanese composer Yoko Kanno. We’ve mentioned Ms. Kanno at 3yen before. She composed the music for many anime series, such as Cowboy Bebop, Macross Plus and Escaflowne. She also composed the music for countless other video games and movies.
Ms. Kanno will produce 90 tracks for the game under her contract. Her music is likely to be a big selling point for the game in the west, where many players are unhappy about having to lose the characters they developed in the original Ragnarok Online game if they changed over to the sequel.
The game is currently in closed beta mode for Japan and Korea after a playable demo was unveiled at the Tokyo Game show in September last year. There is no word yet on when the game will be released.
Squee! Yoko Kanno music on the sequel to my fave game! Chidade is happy!
