As Taro reported, the Final Fantasy Potion drinks have been released. You can buy them everywhere, including your local 7-Eleven, or if you’re truly hardcore, buy them secondhand from Den Den Town’s back streets at inflated prices.

Anyway, I got my hands on one. It was a bit disappointing. The bottle shapes are nice but just cheap blue plastic. Glass would’ve been nicer. Also, the drink is absolutely freakin’ horrible. It’s kinda like Pocari Sweat (the ion drink of choice here - think Gatorade) and 7-Up mixed together, with a splash of cologne. Which is what my friend thought it was at first. The look on his face when I opened it and took a swig was priceless.
Can’t say the same for the drink though.
Oh well, the limited edition trading card is nice and spiffy, Pity I can’t appreciate it more since I can’t read Japanese and therefore can’t play the newly released Final Fantasy XII.
There are some English reviews floating alound already though. Check out the on-going review at 1UP - they’re some three or four days into their review (well, it’s a long game!)
I can’t wait til it gets released in English in time for Christmas.

It’s in the Nikkei so it’s news: first Sony Dips Into the Red, then Nintendo Logs Two-Digit Decline in Sales and Income.
Regarding Sony’s results for the 1Q of 2005, in short they are in the red, apparently because they didn’t sell enough TVs and MemorySticks. The good news is that the game segment is up 64% compared to last year, but they are still losing even more money than last year in that department too. Sony says this is due to an increase in the advertisement and R&D expenses.
Nintendo’s 2005 Q1 is not that good either, actually it dropped 14% compared to the figures last year. Sales of the Nintendo DS exceeded 1.38 million units during this period, but it’s still much lower than the 5.27 million units of the first four months. But they are still hopeful, and apparently Nintendogs is selling well. Sales of the Game Boy Advance and the GameCube dropped 60% too. Nintendo says they are not too worried because the Holiday season should balance it all nicely.

You may think that this article won’t mean anything to you, but you never know when you’ll spontaneously try the same gravity-defying kick-jump you pulled off in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater and end up with a broken wrist. Or, maybe you just want to eat Cheetos without getting orange gunk in your game controls? I refuse to make the usual joke about playing games one-handed.
Being a one-hand gamer blows, or at least it did until now. You can always rely on the third party manufacturers to give you the items you really need, and they came up with a beauty here.

It’s a one-handed PS2 controller, and completely symmetrical. It may look a bit ….well, unique but speaking from personal experience, it’s very quick to get used to. Just treat it like a modified mouse. Pair it up with more third party items like PS2-to-Xbox and PS2-to-Gamecube converters and you have a device that’ll let you game no matter what situation you find yourself in.
Now, if only there were something like that for the PC…

For some obscure reason, last night I dreamt that the PS3 has been out for a long time — and I had one — and even more obscure, the PSP was about to come out and I was wondering if I wanted one or if it was overkill… This is very strange. And it’s also totally off-topic.
So it’s really about this LiveJournal user named LionBoogy who posted images of their “Liddo and Sarah’s Katamari Fantasy Night” on their blog, and it is worth a look if you are a Katamari Damacy fan or a cosplay fan in general (if you don’t know what cosplay is, read about it here and here). And I will not post a picture of it here because you should really go see it.
